Volodymyr Zelensky Takes Panhandler Of The Year
Legend has it that America was only able to win the revolution against England because Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were constantly in France begging for aid. It follows that even though war is a resource-intensive undertaking, it’s mostly beggarly nation-states that will not hesitate to throw their own citizens into a meat grinder.
But even so, I knew I had been scammed when I saw Zelensky running around old Jerusalem in a suit and tie, smiling broadly and pictures with the corps d’elite before jumping back in front of the same cameras to remark that the conflict in that area was “distracting the world” from Ukraine x Russia.
I had never taken an interest in listening to any of Mr. Zelensky’s speeches until a couple of days ago. And as it turns out, an actor had been running state affairs in the country of Ukraine, before he made the whole world his literal stage. And what a performance it has been!
First and foremost, Volodymyr Zelensky parades around mildly unkempt wearing military fatigues that’d make you think he’s walked straight out of the battlefield. That performance alone earns him billions.
