‘Eliminating the Department of Education’ is on page 319 of the Project 2025 Manifesto, how did America fail an open book test? There’s a certain camp in this country that claims that the Department of Education hasn’t done enough ‘to advance’ education in the U. S. because they’ve never passed an open book test themselves.

If they’re looking for someone to ‘blame’ they might as well look to their States and school district boards which effectively control the curriculum, the teachers, the books, salaries, benefits, and transportation, and thus could have been the ones who arrested their intellectual development.

The main role of the Department of Education was to disperse federal funds to schools and provide funding for students in special ed — (The department was created in part because states weren’t doing it —, disburse and collect student loan repayments under the FSA.

This latter part is the meat of the issue and why Elon Musk is fighting to be the one holding the paring knife.
