This incompetence was cemented back when Newt Gingrich became the 50th Speaker of the House. He elevated legislative obstructionism to a central political strategy of the Republican party, along with blaming Democrats. They got so good at voting ‘no’ and now that they are in charge, they have not a single clue about how to govern.
After promising to fix the entire world on day one, Trump is already struggling an entire week in. His disapproval rating has jumped 7 points since December, and his spending freeze is backfiring, not to mention the rapid succession of planes falling out of the sky because he gutted the FAA for no reason at all.
