Author’s note: It’s raining tunnels in the News lately, but this writing will focus on the so-called sinister death traps under Gaza City.

As a sensible and seasoned Muay Thai spectator who’s always on the hunt for great action between worthy opponents, I found no better place to learn more about fighting a war waged below ground, than in the backdrop of WWI where secret tunnels and trenches abounded.

PS: This article will not drastically impact the course of any ground war. Your best men will still have to pull their weight.🫡

World War One is said to be the bloodiest siege war in human history and arguably the first conflict to be filmed. For the army men, it was a war of pure suffering in the tunnels and trenches as they lay there in wait for the perfect opportunity to carry out an ambush, without risking a thorough and decisive mow-down by enemy gun fire.
