Ted Cruz Has Been Spending His Leadership PACs Money, To Fund His Lavish Lifestyle

Will our lawmakers ever originate ideas, or will their donors continue to run this country?

A new report by the Issue One and Campaign Legal Center came out recently showing that scores of members of Congress — both in the House and in the Senate have been spending the money they raise in their Leadership, political action committees (PACs) to fund their lavish lifestyles.

The intended purpose of leadership PACs when they were approved by the Federal Election Commission more than 40 years ago was to raise money for political purposes such as making contributions to assist other candidates and political groups within a political party.

Leadership PACs are not as tightly regulated compared to Super (PACs), so these lawmakers can easily justify massive spending at fancy restaurants, trips to elite resorts, rounds of golf at premier courses, luxury travel, and so on as political exenditure.

Issue One and Campaign Legal Center found that the leadership PACs of 120 members of Congress spent less than 50% on politics between January 2019 and December 2020.
