Spending Summer Days In Frankfurt: White People Here Seem Completely ‘Unaware’ Of Their Race
… Or Something Along Those Lines
As a totally nosey global citizen, my husband and I try to take at least three trips a year to a different country to test out how strong the American dollar truly is, but more importantly, to find out what everyone else is up to outside the United States.
While the Debbie Downers insist on counting ‘Europe’ as essentially one country, I vehemently refuse to do so and count each country separately. This week marks our first full week in Frankfurt — I’m sure someone is wondering why ‘Frankfurt’ for a summer holiday ‘getaway?’ First of all, we’re a little weird, second of all, it is hot here, and I’m talking 97 °F with no AC!!! I guess that checks the box …?
My husband and I travel to essentially live like the lite version of the locals we find there. We rent the property, the car, do laundry, work remotely, and do a bit of light cooking, especially for breakfast. The ingredients here are simply out of this world.
