When I was about 15 years old, while attending a catholic boarding school in London, I learned that the ‘God of the Bible’ gets another man’s wife pregnant, and that the girl tries to hide the pregnancy from her husband. The Apocryphal details of it all, as outlined in the Protoevangelium of James, dramatically amplify the human drama.
In the text, Mary insists that she ‘doesn’t know how it happened’ or that ‘she didn’t feel a thing’ — theology calls that experience a ‘supernatural miracle.’ Indeed. However, in practical terms, we all know that could only have meant one thing: Jesus’ dad was packing an impossibly tiny micro penis. Why make excuses?
Biologically speaking, that IS the first explanation as to how Mary remained ‘unbreached’ (a virgin) as a human woman, although there’s another biblically established basis to claim ‘sexual purity,’ after the fact (lol!), which I get into further in the article.
Also in the text, Joseph insists that Mary had lied to him and even asks her, ‘What prayer shall I make for this maiden? Why did you humble your soul after being raised in the Temple?’ And…
