The Nazis didn’t spring forth fully formed from the devil’s head like Athena, they were the logical result of many generations of Christian antisemitism. Nothing the Nazis did during the Holocaust would have been against traditional Christian values. To claim otherwise is to whitewash Christianity’s long history of absolute hatred and intolerance.

In 1933, under the leadership of the Nazi Bishop Ludwig Müller the State Reich Church was established to unify the different branches of Protestantism, after Hitler and Pope Pius XI signed a concordat stating that he would not interfere in the running of the Catholic Church as long as it stayed out of political matters in Germany.

Hitler’s only irritation with Christianity was its Semitic roots, which he attempted to erase, although unsuccessfully. The disconnect between his public statements on religion i.e, his private statements, and interactions with Nazi occultists, make it difficult to pin down the guy’s exact views, although he did try to clarify more than a few times.
